Ex-Aide to Japan Premier Charged in Bribery Case

Authorities Wednesday arrested a former official who had worked in the prime minister’s office and charged him with accepting bribes.

Tokyo prosecutors said that Tetsuaki Hashimoto, 58, who had been in charge of the annual budget for government publicity since 1979, allegedly received a total of $800,000 in cash from various advertising firms.
