Technicians are testing part of an American Airlines Boeing 727 to find what caused a 15-inch crack that forced the plane to make an unscheduled landing in Detroit on Monday, the National Transportation Safety Board said. The crack occurred in the roof of the wheel well, a spokesman for American said. The plane, Flight 984, lost cabin pressure while en route from Chicago to Philadelphia. There were no injuries among the 112 people aboard.
