5 Slain by Sinhalese Extremists in Sri Lanka

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka —
Sinhalese extremists Sunday shot and killed five people in a raid on the home of an official in President Junius R. Jayewardene’s governing United National Party.
Military officers said the extremists attacked the home of B. Abeywickrene in the town of Akuressa, 80 miles south of Colombo. Abeywickrene, secretary to the district’s chief minister, was not home at the time. The victims were two police constables, a bodyguard assigned to Abeywickrene and two civilians.
