Gen-Probe has received federal Food and Drug Administration approval to begin marketing a non-isotopic, or non-radioactive, diagnostic assay for detecting gonorrhea, the 11th Gen-Probe product to receive such a clearance. The diagnostic product, based on RNA probe technology, is designed for use in hospital and clinical laboratories.
