Franklin Reports Profit in Quarter, 9-Month Period

Franklin Telecommunications said it earned $201,000, or less than 1 cent a share, in the third quarter ended March 31, contrasted with a loss of $462,000 a year earlier. Revenue rose 45% to $6.9 million.

The Westlake Village computer parts and data communications company earned $353,000, or less than 1 cent a share, for the nine months, compared to a loss of $720,000 in the year-earlier period. Sales rose 32% to $19.1 million.

The company attributed the turnabout to improvements in its data communications operation.
