Get out your bathing suit, sailboat and kite--it’s going to be one of those sunny and warm weekends that Southern California is famous for.

The warming trend that began earlier in the week will continue today through Sunday, with high temperatures ranging from the low 80s at the beaches to the low 90s in the valleys and low 100s in the deserts, according to Dave Beusterien, meteorologist with WeatherData Inc., which provides forecasts for The Times.

There will be some light Santa Ana winds gusting to 30 to 35 m.p.h. in the canyon passes and deserts starting this morning and continuing through Saturday, and possibly into Sunday. The nice, dry weather is compliments of weather systems to the east of California, which are ambling along so slowly that no major cool air or storms can approach the state, Beusterien said.

Thursday’s high at the Civic Center was 85 and the low was 60. Relative humidity ranged from 33% to 84%.

Beach lows this weekend will be in the 50s, and the thermometer will drop into the mid-50s and 60s in the valleys at night. The lows in the high desert will be in the mid-50s and 60s.

The Southern California mountains will be pleasant, with clear skies through Saturday and temperatures in the northern ranges varying from the 60s to upper 70s in the daytime and 30s and 40s at night.

Boaters will have good sailing, with clear skies and light variable winds west to southwest 5 to 15 knots today in the inner coastal waters from Point Conception to the Mexican border. There will be 2-foot seas Friday afternoon and evening, with southwest swells of 4 feet. The outer coastal waters will have clear skies and variable winds of 15 knots or less through Friday night, and northwest swells of 8 feet. Coastal waters will be in low 60s.

Santa Barbara and Ventura counties will have mostly clear skies through Saturday with highs in the 70s and lows in the 50s. In San Diego, it will be clear and warm. High temperatures on the coast will be in the 70s and low 80s, reaching the low 90s inland. Lows will be in the high 40s and mid-50s on the coastal strip and inland valleys.

San Francisco will have some clouds and fog along the coast, but it will be warm in most areas, with highs in the 60s and low 70s, and lows in the mid-40s and 50s.
