The Yugoslav Communist Party, after a three-day conference marked by delegates’ sharp criticism of the party leadership, ended the meeting with an upbeat statement on the nation’s economic crisis. Although some delegates had demanded that the final document con1952541038inefficiency and corruption that have resulted in worker unrest, 152% inflation and a $21-billion foreign debt, the report contained no such wording. “The party is capable of seeking and finding a way out of the political and economic crisis,” the statement said. Forty delegates objected to the final text.
