Alfredo Volpi; Brazilian Abstract Painter
Alfredo Volpi, 92, an abstract painter who was widely acclaimed in Brazil but never achieved the world fame that many said he deserved. Volpi, best known for his intricate geometrical forms in varying tones of red, orange, green, blue and yellow, left behind about 3,000 works of art that spanned a career of 70 years. In Sao Paulo on Sunday of a heart attack.
