UCI Players Advance in Adoption Guild Tennis

Mike Brigg and Trevor Kronemann advanced to the final of the Men’s 6.5 Division of the Adoption Guild tennis tournament Saturday with a victory over Mitchell Bridge and Phil Dent at the Newport Beach Tennis Club.

Brigg and Kronemann, who play for UC Irvine, won, 7-6, 6-2. They will play Scott Brownsberger and Scott Melville, both of USC, today for the championship.

Brownsberger and Melville advanced when Chris Dunk and Eric Amend defaulted.

In the Men’s 6.0 Division semifinals, Grant Hein-Jamil Atcha defeated Kim Vieira-Bob Robles, 6-3, 4-6, 6-2, and Jordan Otterbein-Eric Michelson defeated Dick Gude-Alan Godfrey, 7-6, 5-7, 7-6.

In the Women’s 6.0 Division semifinals, Gretchen Miller-Debbie Goldberger defeated Linda Mallary-Barbara Lemburg, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5, and Julie Willett-Danielle Scott defeated Jill Beck-Susie Page, 6-2, 6-0.

In the Mixed 6.0 Division semifinals, Jennifer Slattery-Pat Crow defeated Darey Brandt-Jim Kellogg, 6-3, 6-3, and Gail Glasgow-Ian Aler defeated David Scherbeck-Barbara Lemburg, 4-6, 7-6, 7-6.
