The Hispanic Coalition on AIDS gave Ricardo Montalban its Lifetime Humanitarian award during “A La Vida!” ceremonies Friday night at the Biltmore Hotel. After masters of ceremonies Edward James Olmos and Rita Moreno offered lavish introductory praise, Montalban took the podium and put his career in more realistic perspective by offering “The Five Stages of Acting”:
1. “Who is Ricardo Montalban?”
2. “Get me Ricardo Montalban!”
3. “Get me a Ricardo Montalban type!
4. “Get me a young Ricardo Montalban!”
5. “Who is Ricardo Montalban?”
