Two hundred peasants stormed and ransacked a police station in southern China to revenge the death of a villager who was shot to death while being arrested, an official newspaper reported.

The mob beat up local Communist Party officials in Yuchi village in Guangdong province, set fire to four police motorbikes, smashed four others, destroyed files, stole bullets and freed two criminals from jail, the Yangcheng Evening News said Saturday.
