Disaster in 84 Indiana Counties

Sixty of Indiana’s 92 counties were declared federal disaster areas today because of a drought threatening Midwest crops.
Earlier this week, 24 other Indiana counties were declared disaster areas by the federal government, thereby permitting emergency grazing and haying on land set aside under government programs. If it doesn’t rain soon, farmers in southern Indiana may face the worst spring drought in 25 years, said Jack Washburn, Harrison County extension agent.
