London-based Maxwell Communications Corp. has signed an agreement with International Business Machines Corp. to buy Science Research Associates, IBM’s publishing unit, for $150 million, the companies said. The acquisition will include Science Research Associates’ subsidiaries in Australia, Canada and Great Britain. Science Research Associates, or SRA, is a wholly owned subsidiary of Armonk, New York-based IBM. It develops and publishes educational materials, achievement and vocational tests and industrial training programs.
