Schwartz Wins Race at Speedway Event

Bobby Schwartz of Costa Mesa won the four-lap scratch main event Friday in front of 2,942 in the weekly speedway program at the Orange County Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa.

Schwartz led all the way to earn his eighth victory in 11 starts at Costa Mesa this season. Mike Curoso of Fountain Valley was second, Bart Bast of Auburn, Calif. third and Alan Christian of Huntington Beach fourth.

Trinon Cirello of Costa Mesa won the eight-lap handicap main event.
