Rutger Hauer takes a benevolent turn as a blind man armed with only a sword, a cane and sharp sense of humor who transports a small boy from Miami to Reno to reunite him with his dad. Daddy’s Home (M.C.E.G.). Shooting in Vancouver, Canada. John Travolta, Kirstie Alley, Olympia Dukakis and George Segal star in a story of a woman whose philandering husband breaks up with her just before she is to bear their child. Fletch II (Universal). Shooting in Louisiana. Chevy Chase returns as the chameleon-like newspaper columnist, who this time out inherits a Southern plantation and gets involved in romance and murder. How to Get Ahead in Advertising (HandMade). Shooting in Britain. George Harrison co-exec produces (with Denis O’Brien) this yarn of a successful albeit disillusioned ad exec. He must deal with the hypocrisies of his profession while trying to create a dynamic campaign for . . . a pimple cream. Producers David Wimbury and Ray Cooper. Director/screenwriter Bruce Robinson. Sexpot (Platinum). Shooting in New York City. Erstwhile erotic director Chuck Vincent bring us this mainstream profile of Ivy Barrington, a voluptuous and creatively intelligent woman who searches for true love in these 1980s. Producer Vincent.
