Stretching Usefulness of Old Panty Hose

Share

Patti Garrity of Manhattan Beach is looking for an organization that can use worn hose and panty hose. She used to send the material to doll makers in the Caribbean, but they no longer import it. Can you help as long as Garrity is panting for a source, or will she feel as hosed down as if we’d poured cold water on her idea?

Erika Lane of Sherman Oaks would like to find a back-view mirror (for grooming) that you hang around your neck. She would especially like the kind that is compact enough for travel. Can you help by stepping forward with a source, or will Lane never have any idea as to what really goes on behind her back?

Otila Fiala of Los Angeles says her church has to replace some windows that were cracked during a recent neighborhood fire; so far they’ve been unable to locate a source for that particular window material. The need is for half-inch Pluralite corrugated glass that measures 39 by 39 inches. Does the name ring a bell, enabling you to come up with a source that’s more than it’s cracked up to be, or will the information not get to Fiala--and the church--on time?

Oliver Crawford of Los Angeles, who was looking for the transparent plastic covers that go around wall light switches, need no longer be kept in the dark. Ann Leonard of Monterey Park writes that these covers can be purchased at the Home Depot, 12300 La Mirada Blvd., La Mirada; they are called Decorator Plates and can be found in the lamp department.
