Glasnost II: The Soviet Union is allowing Voice of America, the U.S. government’s radio service, to open its first Moscow bureau. Voice of America officials said Wednesday that opening of the bureau was confirmed at the recent Moscow summit. The service hopes to have its Moscow bureau set up and ready for broadcasting in three months, a spokeswoman said. The Soviets are now opening more doors to VOA and have stopped jamming its broadcasts to the U.S.S.R. after decades of doing so.
