Jackson, Dukakis and the Democrats

Share

As a lifelong Democrat I am appalled by the article on Dukakis. How horrifying to learn that the arrogant little man does not cater to “special interests.” Special interests like the rights of the disenfranchised, women, minorities (like gay men and women) and all those special segments of American society that have never been given either voice or choice in the fabric of that society.

Once again the Democratic Party falls apart in a hard-line borrowing from the Republicans, stealing the coldness and fundamental heartlessness of that party and grafting it onto vague and generalized mouthings about “jobs and education.”

What none of them seem to realize is that if Jackson had been white he would have been the Democratic candidate, for he most clearly embodies the party’s sentiments.

I am voting for Bush. At least I know what I’m getting. I am not about to cast a vote for a fake Democrat.

Beware of Greeks starting rifts.
