Placentia’s Nicholson Falls in Wrestling Trials

Larry Nicholson of Placentia was defeated in three matches Friday by Richard Salamone of Crownsville, Md., in the semifinals of the 105.5-pound division of the Olympic wrestling trials in Pensacola, Fla.

Nicholson won the first match, 16-10, but then lost the next two, 6-4, 11-9. Salamone will face Tim Vanni of Tempe, Ariz., in the final.
