Hollywood Sign Plans Criticized
Please do not light or color the Hollywood sign. Any augmentation would only magnify its obtrusiveness into the various communities of the area. Furthermore, most sensible people realize that Hollywood’s glamorous image is but a thin veneer covering a sometimes ugly reality. Attempts to perpetuate this anachronistic image can only be regarded with humor.
In the future, I hope that the chamber will consider much less superficial “improvements.” This may, of course, be contrary to Hollywood tradition.
