Suspected Sikh extremists hurled a homemade grenade into a crowded vegetable market in New Delhi, killing four Hindus and injuring at least 42 others, Indian police said. The blast occurred while more than 2,000 people were shopping at an outdoor vegetable market in Tilak Nagar, a mixed Hindu and Sikh suburb. One man was detained for questioning and extra officers were posted in Sikh neighborhoods in the area to prevent possible retaliation by Hindus, police said. The Sikhs have been waging a six-year-old guerrilla war for a separate homeland.
