Local News in Brief : Countywide : Dogs for Disabled Get Exemption From Fees

Dogs for the hearing impaired and others with physical disabilities were exempted Tuesday from the county’s dog licensing fees.

A similar exemption has been available for guide dogs for the blind since 1975.

The exemption proposal approved Tuesday by the County Board of Supervisors in a unanimous vote, was in response to the increased use of dogs to aid disabled people other than the blind, Supervisor Gaddi H. Vasquez had told his colleagues.
