OBITUARIES : Kenji Ishizaki; Co-Founder of Restaurants

Kenji Ishizaki, 64, a co-founder of the Yamato Japanese restaurants in San Francisco and Century City. Yamato’s was started in San Francisco in 1946 and the Century City restaurant in the Century Plaza Hotel was opened in 1966. Ishizaki was active in Los Angeles business and civic affairs and served on the board of directors of Pacific Heritage Bank. Survivors include his wife, Sadako, a sister and two brothers. In a Los Angeles hospital on Monday of the complications of a stroke.
