Safelite Glass Corp., the largest installer of replacement auto glass in the country and a leading replacement windshield manufacturer, has acquired AFG Auto Glass, the country’s fourth-largest auto glass installation company. The acquisition will provide Safelite with 84 new stores in key markets across the country, bringing the total Safelite-owned stores to more than 500, with nearly 4,000 employees. Safelite, based in Wichita, Kan., is a unit of Lear Siegler Holdings Corp., which is owned by Forstmann Little & Co., a private investment firm.
