British auto maker Rolls-Royce is challenging a logo used by a company that makes caskets and burial kits for pets. Rolls-Royce has filed documents with the U.S. Patent Office, alleging that Pet Rest Inc. of Lima, Ohio, owned by Mike and Sandy McCormack, has adopted a logo confusingly close to its own. Pet Rest’s logo includes a capital P and an interlocking capital R. Rolls-Royce said it has used two interlocking capital Rs to identify its company since 1925. Sandy McCormack said the challenge was “surprising.” “We were just astounded that anyone could confuse a Rolls-Royce product with a Pet Rest product,” she said.
