Vocational Schools

Share

The Times is providing a public service in its inquiry into vocational-technical schooling. We must not be naive in our thinking that providers of educational services are beyond inquiry. Like any other service, quality is effected when the provider knows that customers/clients expect the best.

In my experience in voc-tech education I continue to be amazed at how little attention the student gives to selecting a school or program. The existence of poorly managed and unethical institutions relates to the submissive attitudes of those receiving voc-tech services.

Students should learn to discriminate when selecting a school. If they learn to choose wisely, most inferior schools will be out of business.
