Parking Space Less in Much Larger Building

Re-two articles on the front page of the real estate section (June 19), do I really understand what I am reading?

Pasadena will build a building containing 438,000 square feet and parking for 2,050 cars.

The Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency approves building 1.2 million feet of rentable space downtown, and it has parking for 1,000 cars.

Southern California Gas Co. will take up less than half the space, yet have 2,000 employees. Where are the rest of the occupants going to park, let alone the transient traffic and the traffic for three levels of retail space?

Who had their head buried in the sand on this one--just to get dollars for the library renovation? How much more can the downtown area take?
