Newport Pacific Construction, a subsidiary of Newport Pacific Group of Companies, started construction on three apartment complexes in Anaheim, two on West Savanna Street and one on South Brookhurst Street . . . Sterling Realtors of Fountain Valley joined Prudential Real Estate Affiliates Inc. . . . Santa Fe Pacific Realty, a unit of Santa Fe Southern Pacific Corp. in Chicago, started construction on a 211,000-square-foot warehouse on South Acacia Avenue in Fullerton as the second expansion phase of Yokohama Tire’s western regional headquarters . . . Akins Development Co., Newport Beach, won contracts to design and build two apartment complexes in Tustin for Irvine Pacific . . . Pizza Hut leased 16,000 square feet of office space for a regional headquarters at Carnegie Center, 2500 S. Red Hill Ave. in Santa Ana, for $2.4 million. Also: Southland Corp. of Dallas, operator of 7-Eleven convenience stores, leased 52,000 square feet at Brea Place, 120 S. State College Blvd. in Brea, as a regional headquarters for $7.5 million. Grubb & Ellis Co. handled both transactions.
