Rancho Santiago College has received a $155,000 grant from the state chancellor’s office of the California Community Colleges to start a Small Business Training and Assistance Center.

The center, to be opened next spring on the Santa Ana campus, will aid county businesses that have fewer than 15 employees.

The college’s project directors for the new center are Bonnie Slager, assistant dean in the Business Division, and Hilda Roberts, a business instructor.

“We intend to provide such information as how to start a small business, how to fill out the proper forms, which governmental agencies to contact, and any additional information or assistance that is needed,” Slager said.
