Israelis Kill 2 Palestinian Youths
Israeli troops shot and killed two Palestinian teen-agers today in clashes in the occupied West Bank, hospital officials said.
The death toll was the highest in the occupied territories for a single day since June 16, when Israeli troops shot to death two Palestinians in the village of Beit Furik. Also today, Economics Minister Gad Yaacobi said the 7-month Arab uprising has cost Israel more than $600 million, including losses in tourism, exports and production revenues. Defense Minister Yitzhak Rabin said Israel has spent about $160 million to quell the unrest.
