Local News in Brief : Suit Filed Over Park Plans

Share

A San Dimas citizens group has filed suit against Los Angeles County, claiming that officials have violated state environmental laws by soliciting development proposals for projects at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park before the completion of an environmental impact report.

Judy Hammond, press deputy for Supervisor Pete Schabarum, the plan’s principal backer, said Monday that county officials had not been served with the suit and would not comment on the allegations of the Coalition to Preserve Bonelli Park.

The county already has solicited proposals from developers for a group picnic ground and a 400-horse equestrian center, but an environmental review of the project has not been certified for release by the Board of Supervisors.
