Enter the Dead among the world’s philanthropists. On Monday night, the Grateful Dead sent a $2,000 check to the Lake Geneva (Wis.) Rotary Club’s Farm Drought Relief Fund--$1,500 of which will go toward helping Wisconsin farmers feed their livestock. The other $500, though, went to help the nearby Alpine Valley Music Theater pay a bill sent by Lake Geneva Mayor Spyro Condos to the venue for the beefed-up security needed for the Dead’s shows there last month.
