Heavy-metal fan Arturo Basulto, left, designed the mural, complete with demon faces and naked women, on hood of his 1987 Renault Alliance. At right, tilt-bed mini-truck features plush velvet upholstery and king-size stereo speakers. The event was Sunday at Lynwood park, sponsored by Lynwood Chamber of Commerce and the Recycler classified advertising paper. Judging for trophies was done on a point system covering exterior paint, workmanship and body modifications; custom interior design and upholstery; engine cleanliness, workmanship and engineering, and other features. Some of the categories were pre-1941 models, race cars, low-riders, street rods and exotic cars. There was also a contest for mini-truck hydraulic dancing beds.
