Hundreds of people have resigned their membership in Lloyds of London’s insurance market this year amid forecasts of possible losses from U.S. pollution and asbestos claims, a spokesman said. Lloyds figures showed 744 formal resignations had been received, but the spokesman said the figure should be balanced against its more than 33,000 underwriting members, or “names.”
