Marine to Go to Prison for Lesbian Conduct

Former Marine Corps drill instructor Cheryl Jameson was sentenced Friday to a year in prison for having homosexual relationships with another drill instructor and a recent graduate of the Marine Corps Recruit Training Depot.

Sgt. Jameson, 27, from Napa, Calif., was reduced in rank to a private, dishonorably discharged and forced to forfeit all pay and benefits. She had asked that her case be heard by a judge and waived the right to a trial by a jury of her military peers, officials said.
