Texas Business magazine suspended operations, a victim of the economy it covered for nearly a dozen years, officials said. The monthly magazine, which was purchased in 1986 from the family of Dallas entrepreneur Don Baker by Yankee Publishing in Dublin, N.H., had been for sale for several months. The staff of 18 people, who were told they would be laid off with fair compensation, heard the news at a staff meeting from publisher Karen Peterson. The magazine, which had a circulation of more than 60,000, will publish its August issue next week.
