PASSINGS : William R. Latta; Public Relations Pioneer
William R. Latta, 80, founder of one of the first public relations firms in downtown Los Angeles and one of the first area residents to live in Flintridge. Latta started his firm, Latta & Co., in 1945 in a small office near Pershing Square and his clients included many downtown businessmen and industrialists. He was largely responsible for construction of the first elementary school in Flintridge in 1950. He retired to Rancho Bernardo in 1973 where he died on July 12.
