On Friday, Karen Keltner, San Diego Opera’s resident associate conductor, will make her debut on the podium of Chautauqua Opera conducting Mozart’s “Cosi Fan Tutte.” Part of Upstate New York’s noted Chautauqua Summer Festival, the opera company has been presenting operas in English every summer since 1929. Keltner conducted this February’s highly praised production of Gounod’s “Faust” for San Diego Opera, and will be featured again this coming season in the local company’s “Don Pasquale” by Donizetti.
