Westcorp, the holding company for Western Financial Savings Bank in Orange, posted record net income of $3.65 million for the second quarter, a 66% increase over $2.2 million earned in the same quarter last year. Revenue rose 47% to $56 million this year from $38.1 million last year. For the six months, net income rose 27% to $7.1 million from $5.6 million earned in the same period last year. Revenue grew 30% to $98 million this year from $75.5 million last year. Westcorp’s assets grew 24% to $2.1 billion at the end of June from $1.7 billion a year earlier. The S&L;’s total deposits rose 11% to $977.3 million at the end of the period from $883.7 million a year earlier, while loans grew 20% to $1.8 billion last year from $1.5 billion this year.
