Local News in Brief : Santa Ana : Public’s Help Asked in Finding Girl’s Molester
The Orange County Sheriff’s Department is seeking the public’s help in finding a man who sexually assaulted an 11-year-old girl July 11 under a Santa Ana River bridge.
The girl was riding her bike under the Hamilton Street Bridge when she was stopped by a man on a black, beach cruiser-type bicycle, Sheriff’s Lt. Richard J. Olson said.
The man threatened her with a knife and ordered her to do as she was told, Olson said. He took her into the riverbed behind a concrete bridge support and assaulted her, he said, adding that the girl was not raped.
The man was described as white, 30 to 40 years old with black hair and a brown mustache. He is 5 feet, 8 inches to 5 feet, 11 inches tall and of medium build.
He was wearing Army-type green pants and a shirt and a green hat, Olson said.
Anyone with information is asked to call Investigator Carol Braselton at (714) 567-3863 or (714) 647-7000 evenings.
