Nosy Neighbor

Sunset Boulevard power lunches may never be the same: Come September, the National Enquirer plans to open an office on the Strip, almost directly across from Le Dome and Nicky Blair’s, two of Hollywood’s most prominent industry watering holes.

Paparazzi already regularly stake out both spots. Now inquiring minds--and perhaps inquiring zoom lenses--will be just across the street. To better spy on celebs?

“My understanding is that’s one of the reasons (the new office) is there,” an Enquirer source told us. “It’s centrally located in a prestige neighborhood. We can use it as a place to take celebrities who wouldn’t want to be seen in a restaurant with an Enquirer reporter. Kind of neutral territory.”

The office will become a convenient “drop” for the tabloid’s army of tipsters and photogs--often show-biz figures themselves.

Nicky Blair pooh-poohs any impact on his business: “We never reveal who’s there. . . . I don’t even put (celebs’) names down now” in the appointment book, he said.
