Local News in Brief : Buena Park : Actor Dudley Moore Voted Honorary Citizen
Dudley Moore, the alcoholic Arthur of movie fame, has been voted an honorary citizen of Buena Park.
The City Council took the action last week to honor Moore’s recent induction into Movieland Wax Museum. A wax likeness of the elfin Englishman reposes in a bathtub full of suds, raising a champagne glass.
“We have a tourism industry in Buena Park,” said Councilman Don R. Griffin. “We wanted to appropriately recognize him being at Movieland.”
Moore joins such Wax Museum celebrities as Burt Reynolds, Carol Burnett and Danny Thomas in being granted honorary citizenship of Buena Park.
Moore was handed the keys to the city July 6 by Mayor Rhonda J. McCune.
About 245 wax likenesses of stars are featured at Movieland, a museum spokeswoman said.
