Explosion at Van Nuys GM Plant

A 4,000-gallon paint thinner tank exploded this morning at the General Motors Assembly Plant in Van Nuys, hurling a huge portion of the tank onto the roof, authorities said. There were no injuries and a small fire triggered by the explosion was extinguished by plant personnel by the time firefighters arrived.
