A U.S. Navy battle group led by the 45,000-ton battleship New Jersey arrived in the South Korean port of Pusan as part of the American forces which will operate during September’s Olympic Games, U.S. military officials said.

Arrival of the battle group followed Defense Secretary Frank Carlucci’s pledge last month that U.S. forces will operate actively around the Korean Peninsula during the Games.
