The Soviet Cinema Workers Union is forming separate guilds for producers, actors, scriptwriters and critics, the official Soviet news agency Tass reported Wednesday. The new bodies--similar to American-style film industry guilds--will have a major say in the running of the union and the Soviet industry, Tass said. The reorganization in the Cinema Union, whose reformist position has been backed by the new Theatrical Workers Union and the Artists Union, comes as other official unions are under increasing pressure from liberal members to change.
