Prime Computer Inc. reported second-quarter earnings of $7.2 million, down from $15.6 million a year ago. Revenue rose to $408.4 million from $236 million. The Natick, Mass., firm said net income was calculated after a one-time after-tax charge of $5.1 million, which reflects Prime’s removal of its MXCL 5 mini-supercomputer from the market. The 1987 figures also do not include the results of Computervision, which merged with Prime on Feb. 5, 1988, company officials said.
