Huntington Park : City Services to Cost More
The Huntington Park City Council on Monday increased fees and approved new charges for various municipal services, an action that is projected to generate $120,000 a year for the financially pressed city.
Assistant Chief Administrative Officer Craig Robinson said the increases, which will take effect Monday, will help the city recover costs for providing residents with individualized services ranging from copying city documents to processing building permits.
Some existing fees were more than doubled, and the city imposed first-time fees for other services. For example, the fee for a conditional-use permit was increased from $175 to $400, and the council approved a new $100 fee for reviewing site plans.
The increases affect services offered by the city clerk, the Police Department, the Community Development Department and the city’s Recreation Department. 8.
City staff members recommended the increases after a consultant reported that the fees charged by Huntington Park for certain services were below those charged by neighboring cities.
