Defense Secretary Frank C. Carlucci ended a four-day visit to the Soviet Union today by boarding the pride of the Black Sea Fleet, a new missile cruiser capable of carrying up to 16 nuclear weapons.

Carlucci and Soviet Defense Minister Dmitri T. Yazov toured the 561-foot cruiser Slava docked in this important port on the Crimean Peninsula 800 miles from Moscow. A U.S. naval officer said the defense secretary was the first American official to board the cruiser. After inspection of the cruiser, Carlucci headed for Ankara, Turkey, where he plans talks on Turkish-U.S. defense cooperation.
