A bid to restore Ken Adams of the U.S. Army as coach of the U.S. Olympic boxing team will be made later this month, when Adams’ suspension will go to arbitration.

Adams’ attorney, Robert Turman, said that he had filed a demand for arbitration with the U.S. Olympic Committee and that a professional arbitrator would be appointed.

Adams was suspended by the USA/Amateur Boxing Federation June 11 after being accused of assaulting a federation staff member. On July 14, the federation board of directors upheld the suspension, which effectively removed Adams as coach.
