West Hollywood : Decision on Speakeasy Delayed
The Business License Commission has postponed until Sept. 6 a decision on renewal of the entertainment license of a popular Santa Monica Boulevard nightspot.
Neighbors who have complained of noise and other problems associated with The Speakeasy, 8531 Santa Monica Blvd., asked for the postponement Tuesday after complaining that officials had not notified residents who live near the restaurant and bar that a hearing was to take place.
Owners of the establishment have met several times with city officials in recent weeks in an effort to resolve neighbors’ complaints about noise, traffic and other problems, said Paul Self, the city’s business license officer.
City officials on Tuesday agreed to notify about 60 members of the Westknoll Triangle Residents Assn. before the commission’s September meeting, he said.
